We invite you to join us for the journey, as we reconnect with ourselves — mind, body, and spirit — and step into a new way of being.
Reclaiming Our Wild Selves
Living every moment to the fullest is something I'm really passionate about. To me, it's about changing the conversation around aging, embracing every aspect of life, rather than chasing eternal youth. It is such a privilege to be alive and what a refreshing perspective shift to have!
Why Investing in Travel is a Must
Recently, I've found myself reflecting on the essence of travel, the pure joy it brings, and it's got me thinking a lot about treating ourselves to our own adventure.
My Self-Care Blueprint
Lately, I've been finding connection in simple pleasures, me-time. Seemingly small rituals have become my sanctuary, providing a much-needed pause in my day-to-day. Checking out to check in is often just what we need.
Here’s what has been keeping me grounded and connected…
How Travel Can Be the Biggest Catalyst for Change
As we step into the New Year, I want to share a personal reflection that has significantly shaped my own journey. We frequently find ourselves in a groove-perhaps a fantastic one-but it often hinders us from seeing beyond our routine. The most impactful approach to break free from this cycle is by embracing change. Want to know the quickest way to make a shift in your life?
5 Things I'm Daring Myself to do in November
A new month! November has always held a special place in my heart. As the crisp autumn air settles in we begin to embrace the snow. November invites us to slow down and reflect, to get cozy, and to reconnect. That's why I wanted to share my November list with you this week.
#GirlMoss Summer, My Favorite Ways to Connect with Nature
Summer has officially arrived here in Montana! But no matter where you are, summer is an excellent time to take advantage of getting out in nature. Here are some of my current favorite ways to get you #GirlMoss Summer on!
What's the point of a Detour?
This isn't a yoga retreat.
But here’s why we Detour. Detours are laboratories for our hearts and souls. They allow us to step out of our day-to-day, release old stories that no longer serve us, and rediscover who we truly are.
Journal prompts to discover your story
I spoke at the Bridger Women's Club about the importance of sharing our stories. I shared my personal story with the women who gathered, women of all ages and financial backgrounds. And I wanted to remind YOU how discovering your story — no matter where you are in life — is important
Why Every Woman Should Experience Solo Travel
A solo female travel experience is incredible for the soul — at any age.
I am deeply passionate about this and believe it to my core. Providing safe and meaningful opportunities for women to experience travel is the intention behind Dare to Detour and it's at the root of our mission.
Are budgets your B*!%$ or your BFF?
So how have I changed my relationship with money and budgets? The key word here is "relationship". The first step for me was acknowledging my emotions around money. Once I did this, budgets became easier because they provided clear boundaries around my investment and wealth creation goals, and showed me how my spending habits (read "retail therapy") affected those. Here's how I've found a friend in budgets:
I Am Cancer Free
In spite of the global pandemic, things are looking up around here! The sun is shining, the sandhill cranes and robins have returned, and the best news of all - I AM CANCER FREE!
I Have Breast Cancer
I am working to view cancer as an invitation. An invitation to have the hard conversations, to be open to greater possibilities, to reach out to those who I’ve been meaning to but haven’t, to be more present. To continue to explore and try new things. To be vulnerable. To love deeply without hesitation💥
Cold Season Wellness
Here are some of the ways I try and take to stay happy and healthy as the seasons shift and the cold weather sets in (hello, Montana winters!).
Sticking to Good Habits
October is revving up the familiar day to day cycles that we are all accustomed to and that is where we can let our newly gained summer perspective and good habits fall to the wayside.
Fall Intentions
How do you want to approach this new season? What are your intentions? How do you want to spend your time and where do you want to focus your energy?
Karen Lum: Fly-Fishing and the Pursuit of Self
For Karen, fly-fishing is a place to do the often-difficult work of freeing her mind and sinking into her true self. As someone who admittedly struggles with yoga and meditation, the river is a place where she can access calmness and inner quiet.
Self-Care During Summer Holidays
While summertime would seem to be an ideal time to nail down these routines, take ‘er easy and sink into self-care, things like road trips, camping weekends, family reunions and all the other exciting routine breaking that happens this time of year can interrupt our self-care.
Brain Health: A New Age
We all know that staying on top of our mental wellness can be a challenge, but tools like therapy, yoga and meditation help us stay on track, right? Despite all the evidence (and advertising!) in support of self-care tools like these to help stay sane amidst the chaos of everyday life - we aren’t always paying attention to our brain health… are we?
