What's the point of a Detour?

This isn't a yoga retreat... and here’s why we Detour.

First of all, a reminder of what is Dare to Detour:

Dare to Detour is a movement of women daring themselves to step out of their day-to-day experiences, release the old stories which no longer serve them, and rediscover who they truly are.

And I believe the most powerful way to do this is through travel.

These experiences are not yoga retreats (although if you’d like an amazing one, check out The Kula Collective) and the Detours I hold are intentionally devoid of religion and politics, not because I don’t view these doctrines as important, but because we are inundated with those things ALL. THE. TIME. Travel, instead, gives you the opportunity to explore the unknown, trust your gut, take risks, and allow yourself to be surprised by the world around you.

Detours are laboratories for our hearts and souls.

A Detour offers a shift in perspective, and that's healthy. When you’re done, you can choose to go back to the way things were or you can choose to go back in a different way. It's up to you. My job is to make sure there are no “flat tires” along the way. In a sense, the comfort in these retreats is that you know by Detouring with me it will be a smooth ride, one with a very different view.

I know that every time I Detour I return home in a way that is more in tune with my life. And I can't help but let that effect ripple out. When I Detour I return a better person, a better mom, a better friend, and a better leader.
